Everything happens in our West Sussex workshop: the design, the in-house fabrication, the electrical systems, the fit-out, and the final checks. Every van is built to order.

Victron electrical and Truma diesel heating, specified because they hold up in the conditions that test equipment properly — the same components used in marine and off-grid home installations.

Built by people who actually use them.
Onyx began with a van Chris and Heather built on the driveway during lockdown. It had to be sold to fund an engagement ring — but it started something, and we began building vans for other people. Now we build the vans we’d want to travel in ourselves.
Start with a conversation.
A discovery call is a relaxed 30 minutes to talk through how you travel and which van fits — an honest conversation with the people who’ll build it. We typically have a four to six month lead time, so the sooner you’re in the diary, the better.
